In session: Greatest Wolf
Portrait of Gemma Upton (c) KDA.Design

Greatest Wolf, real name Gemma Upton, has been a regular on the Nottingham music scene for the past four years.

The former O'Lovely Lie vocalist has also worked with another Nottingham band Love Ends Disaster.

However, Gemma is enjoying the solo life. She said: "When you're in a band there's different people's ideas, which is brilliant.

"But obviously I was going into the studio, with this music, and it was all my ideas."

Gemma, as Greatest Wolf, performed Indian Summer and Mexico at the BBC Nottingham studios.

Greatest Wolf was a guest of BBC Radio Nottingham's The Beat with Dean Jackson. You can listen to the show every Saturday night from 6.00pm - 10.00pm (103.8, 95.5FM, 1584AM and DAB).

Listen to the latest edition of The Beat on the BBC iPlayer.
