Community Events
Bonfires and firework displays go on into next week
|
Bonfire Night celebrations stretch over several days this year. While many community firework displays are sticking with the traditional 5 November, including Caernarfon, Barmouth, Holyhead and Pwllheli, there are plenty on Saturday, and some as late as Tuesday 10 November (Fairbourne). Others include Pentre Du playing fields, Betws-y-Coed on Friday.
Music
If you were a fan of Last Choir Standing get along to the North Wales Choral Festival at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, on Saturday, 7 November. The winners will perform in an evening concert.
The BBC National Orchestra of Wales stop off regularly at Llandudno and Bangor when they're on tour. On next week's visit the French horn takes centre stage at two concerts.
Arts & Culture
Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, the art gallery in Llanbedrog near Pwllheli, launches its Christmas exhibition on Sunday. The work of 30 different artists will be on show and there'll be a programme of other festive events over the coming weeks.
See the King of Bardsey's crown, as well as finding out more about the island, in a new exhibition at the Gwynedd Museum and Gallery in Bangor.
