BBC Cymru Wales at Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod

Punjabi performers are festival regulars - and so are presenters Roy and Hywel

BBC Radio Wales broadcasts live from this year's Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod (5-11 July) to give listeners a flavour of the world music festival.

For a week every July the town welcomes thousands of musicians and dancers from 50 nations who compete on stage in Llangollen pavilion in more than 20 competitions.

During the week presenters from both BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru will be broadcasting live from the show field.

"I'm very familiar with travelling around Wales, but it is especially exhilarating to talk to artists from across the globe," says Radio Cymru presenter Hywel Gwynfryn.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to bring attention to the week's escapades, and who knows, I might even learn a few dance moves along the way."

BBC Radio Wales also has plenty to offer throughout the week with Roy Noble presenting his programme live from the eisteddfod on Wednesday (7 July).

Meanwhile, Nicola Heywood-Thomas presents The Arts Show on Thursday (8 July) from Llangollen.

You can listen live or listen again to the English and Welsh language programmes via iPlayer for up to a week after broadcast.
