The Roseville Band
The Roseville Band: Well known on the live music scene in north east Wales

Flintshire brothers Steve and Andy Jones named their group after their family home back in 2006. But from small beginnings they found themselves being dubbed 'the Welsh Kings of Leon' by the NME, taking on a brass section and playing Glastonbury 2009.

It doesn't stop there, what with sharing a stage with the Super Furry Animals in Cardiff and a debut album, 'Little Eyes In The Universe'.

And they've just performed live on BBC Radio Wales The Evening Show , showcasing four of their tracks and talking about the Wrexham music scene.

Here's the line-up: Andy, vocals, guitar and mandolin; brother Steve, guitar and vocals; James Edwards, drums and vocals; Phill Watson, bass guitar; Stu Nicholls, trombone; and Ali Evans, trumpet.

Adding the horn section made a big difference to the band's sound - described as "heartfelt, soulful and gritty".

And even though they've played the stage with the Furries at Cardiff Castle - and The Streets - they still list their best moment so far as the reaction received in their first gig with the brass section. That was at Nozstock '08, Mid Wales.

The band aren't short on ideas. This is the reply we received when asking for their favourite or fantasy venue:

"The Racecourse (Wrexham AFC)! Why they don't put big gigs on there these days - just seems crazy! Surely they would make loads of money and that would help the club," said the band.
