Tom Chambers won series six of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008
A Northamptonshire woman is enjoying the success of over seven million visits to her Strictly Come Dancing fansite. Kettering's Katie Cory, a web designer by trade, was originally talked into creating the site by her mother. Since its launch as "a bit of fun" in 2004, the site has evolved into one of the biggest fan sites on the net. And Katie has just finished revamping the site with a whole new look - a job which took up to ten hours a day.
Kate's site covers other dancing programmes as well as SCD

Since then, more than 9,000 articles have been posted on the site - and visitors continue to stream through its virtual doors. Katie's clearly laid-out site includes constantly updated links to Strictly Come Dancing news stories, dancer profiles, regular polls, galleries and a Twitter feed. Katie learned web design whilst studying for her A-levels and she told BBC Radio Northampton the story of how the website came to be. She explained: "My whole family used to sit around watching the programme together. We'd even have gran on the phone ringing up to talk about it." "There's such a good vibe going on and my mum pointed out there were no other websites about the show aside from the main BBC one." "She said that I knew how to design websites so why didn't I give it a go. So I did!" With the programme now into its seventh series, the website's popularity shows no signs of fading. Katie said: "When it gets close to the season finale, there can be up to 1,000 people on the website at the same time. "It can even get so popular it causes the whole site to crash!"
