Remember, remember as we approach Guy Fawkes night there are many organised displays in the county. And this year Bernie Keith and John Griff, presenters from BBC Radio Northampton will be involved. They are on stage at displays at Duston Mill in Northampton and Wicksteed Park in Kettering. We also want to know if there's an organised display where you live. The Firework Code
Only buy fireworks marked BS 7114
Don't drink alcohol if setting off fireworks
Keep fireworks in a closed box
Follow the instructions on each firework
Light at arm's length, using a taper
Stand well back
Never go near a firework that has been lit. Even if it hasn't gone off, it could still explode
Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them
Always supervise children around fireworks
Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves
Never give sparklers to a child under five
Keep pets indoors

Thursday 5th November Bernie Keith hosts the stage at the Wicksteed Park display, Kettering. Gates open at 5pm, fireworks display at 8pm. Tickets £2 in advance or £2.50 on the gate. Acts include the winners and runners up of Wicksteed's Got Talent. Saturday 7th November John Griff hosts the stage at the Northampton fireworks display, Duston Mill, nr Sixfields. Gates open at 5pm, bonfire lighting at 6pm and fireworks from 7pm. Entry £3 adults and £2 concessions. Parking free on site. If you're having your own display have fun, stay safe and follow the firework code. If not then a public display can be spectacular and doesn't usually cost very much. As well as the firework code there is
legislation
that governs the sale and use of fireworks with fines of up to £5000 for letting off or throwing fireworks in a public place.
