CBBC's Me and My Movie in Norwich
Joel Defries, Blue Peter presenter
Follow in the footsteps of Hollywood's finest and make your own movie

Coinciding with Blue Peter's Movie Month, CBBC's Me and My Movie is coming to The Forum in Norwich for film-making fun between 18 - 19 August, 2009.

Movie boffins between 6 and 14 will get the chance to work with professional film-makers and enter their efforts for an award supported by BAFTA.

"Get down there and have a go!" said Joel Defries, Blue Peter presenter.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, 5 July, 2009, via the Me and My Movie website.

The workshop is a great chance to express your creative ideas. It will be educational, whilst providing a whole lot of fun.

"Me and My Movie is a competition where we encourage children to make a two minute film about anything they want and they get the opportunity to do everything. These workshops give you the tools to make that," said Joel.

"Our tutors know their industry - you'll get to work with a range of cameras," he added.

Joel is hoping that the chance to become a film director will inspire the youth of Norfolk and is encouraging them to get creative.

He said people taking part get to meet new people, make something all for free and have a good laugh.

The CBBC Me and My Movie tour comes to The Forum in Norwich on Tuesday, 18 and Wednesday, 19 August, 2009, between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

To sign-up for the film-making workshops, register on the Me and My Movie website by Sunday, 5 July, 2009.
