The Archbishop of York has formally opened a new academy in Norwich.

The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dr John Sentamu cut the ribbon at the Open Academy, on the site of the former Heartsease High School, on 2 December.

"It is breathtaking, I don't think I've ever come into a building where you immediately say 'wow'," he said.

Dr Sentamu also visited city charity Pregnancy Choices and attended a Cathedral evensong as part of his tour of the Diocese of Norwich.

The Archbishop of York fled to Britain from Uganda in 1974 following his expulsion by the late dictator Idi Amin.
