With the help of the local community St Mary's Church in Martham has decorated the building with angels made from paper, wood and wool for the Angel Festival 2009.
The idea for the festival came from Greta Malton who was inspired by the carved angels in the church roof. This angel was knitted out of wool.
Some of the angels were created entirely of paper, using different techniques, from papier mache to origami. "The fingers and detail is fantastic," said Greta.
Angels can vary in size and shape. These angelic carvings were made from a variety of materials including wooden pegs and creates a nativity-like scene.
"The people have painted, stitched, carved and it has suddenly come to light," said Greta. People of all ages have helped contibute including the local school.
"We have peg dollies made into angels and the little ones have surprised us by making the paper come to life," said Greta. The festival runs at St Mary's Church until Tuesday, 22 December 2009.
