Bus routes in Norwich are being affected this weekend

Red Lion Street and Castle Meadow in Norwich are to close on Saturday, 21 August 2010, as work to rebuild the speed bumps gets underway.

Thousands of bus passengers will be forced to use different bus stops.

Red Lion Street will reopen at 0600 BST on Monday, 23 August, but Castle Meadow will remain shut till Monday 6 September.

Over the weekend, traffic will divert via Surrey Street, Queens Road, Bracondale and King Street.

The alternative bus stops that passengers will need to use during the closures are:

• First 9 to Lakenham - St Stephens stand A
• First 9 to Mile Cross and Ives Road - Tombland
• First 10, 10B to Mulbarton - St Stephens stand A
• First 10 to Spixworth - Tombland
• First 12, 12A, 12B to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital - St Stephens stand B
• First 12, 12A, 12B to Dussindale, Wroxham and Stalham - Prince of Wales Road
• First 16, 16A to Old Catton - Tombland
• First 16, 16A to Queens Hills - Theatre Street
• First 17, 17A to Blofield and Brundall - Prince of Wales Road
• First 17, 17A to Tuckswood - St Stephens stand A
• First 18 to Long Stratton - St Stephens stand A
• First 18 to Old Catton - Tombland

*Red Lion Street is closed to all traffic from 7pm on Saturday, 21 August to 6am on Monday, 23 August.

During this time services 21 and 22 will depart from St Stephens Street stand H and services 26 and 27 will depart from St Stephens Street stand I.

From Monday, 23 August both services will depart from Red Lion Street as normal.
