In pictures: Hairy Bikers in Norwich

The Hairy Bikers visited Norwich on Wednesday, 4 November, 2009, to film part of their festive cookery special based on the Twelve Days of Christmas. All photos by Rob Sykes.

Becuase Si suffered an injury in a recent motorcycle accident, The Hairy Bikers have had to adopt alternate transport. Instead of their usual two wheeled bikes, they've opted for a trike.

After donning "sports casual" clothes in honour of the fictional Norwich inhabitant Alan Partridge, the boys got to work on their festive menu.

The theme of the Norwich shoot was "a partridge in a pear tree", so what better way to celebrate the Yuletide staple than by cooking roast partridge and pickled pears.

The chance to get into the festive spirit early proved a big draw for the crowds who were perhaps picking up a few ideas for their own Christmas tables.

Resplendent in their partridge feather bedecked hats, The Hairy Bikers relished the chance to cook in front of a large crowd despite the need for multiple takes.

Si King hails from Washington, Tyne and Wear and has worked as a locations manager on numerous productions including the Harry Potter movies and Byker Grove.

Dave Myers is from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria and is a professional make-up artist, specialising in prosthetics. He has hosted four Hairy Bikers series with Si.

The pressure of performing in front of a live audience, as well as for the cameras, can be telling, but The Hairy Bikers were more than happy to keep the shoppers of Norwich entertained.

Often credited as being the inspiration for Steve Coogan's Alan Partridge, BBC Norfolk's Wally Webb was on hand to help The Hairy Bikers and arrived on suitable transportation.

Wally gave his seal of approval to the Christmas roast partridge before leading the assembled audience in a rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
