Formula One creates jobs at Lotus
Lotus' Technical Director Mike Gascoyne

Mike Gascoyne says the team is being backed by money from Malaysia

Norfolk-based manufacturer Lotus is returning to the Formula One grid in 2010, after an absence of 15 years.

Financed by new money from Malaysia, operations will be split between Kuala Lumpur and Hingham, Norfolk.

"We aim to have a staff [in Norfolk] of around 250 people and most will be recruited locally," said Mike Gascoyne, technical director at Lotus.

Lotus is the fourth most successful Formula One team of all time, having won seven constructors' crowns.
