Sports car manufacturer Lotus based at Hethel, near Norwich, has defied the declining economy and released its first new car since 1995.

The Lotus Evora, the company's first family orientated car, has ensured a number of careers in Norfolk.

"The jobs that have been created over the last six months has been circa 150 new starters," said Luke Bennett, director of Lotus cars.

Retailing from £55,000, the Evora can reach a top speed of 162mph (260.7kph).
