Springwatch 2010: The habitats of Breckland

Chris Packham shares his love of Breckland with fellow Springwatch presenter Kate Humble as they explore the habitats at Wangford Warren and Weeting Heath, near Brandon, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

Rabbits are the main animals that maintain the area's unique habitat, but visitors can also see birds such as the stone-curlew and the lapwing.

Breckland is known for replicating continental conditions and is made up of short grassy heath overlaying sandy soil on a chalk bed.
