Audio slideshow: The history of Thetford Forest

Thetford Forest, growing around the town of Thetford, is the largest lowland pine forest in Britain.

Watch and listen as Richard Brooke, planning and environment manager for the Forestry Commission, provides a history of the forest and explains what it means to the people of Thetford.

Richard goes on to detail the wildlife in the forest, its film locations for Dad's Army and the recreational facilities that the woodland's High Lodge Centre has to offer.
