Fictional comedy character Alan Partridge, a Norwich DJ played by Steve Coogan, is making a return for a new online series in the autumn of 2010.
Most famous for the BBC comedy series I'm Alan Partridge and Knowing Me Knowing You, British actor Steve Coogan, 44, is bringing back Partridge to create 10 12-minute episodes for a lager company.
The new Alan Partridge shows will be created by Coogan's TV company Baby Cow, responsible for recent British comedy hits Gavin and Stacey and The Mighty Boosh.
The character, whose references to Norfolk included boating on the Broads, was enjoyed by six million people in its heyday, but Partridge divided opinion in the county because of his condemnation of local residents.
Since I'm Alan Partridge and Knowing Me Knowing You, Coogan has gone on to star on the big screen playing main roles in Around the World in 80 days and Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller.
Coogan's last outing as Alan Partridge came in 2008 with a live tour of "Steve Coogan is Alan Partridge and other less successful characters", stopping in the county at the Norwich Theatre Royal.
