Trevor Woods, 35, and his wife Jo, from Norfolk, has turned a boring office-space into a brand new gallery.

Gallery Plus, based in Wells-next-the-Sea also houses Trevor's art studio, as well as framing and design services.

"It's been really well received - we've got a completely different looking space," said Trevor.

The north Norfolk gallery, which has opened during the recession, is hoping its natural light and contemporary work will keep it afloat.

"A lot of people said to us, why are you setting up a new business in the middle of a recession?" said Trevor.

"But any time you set up a business is going to be tough. We had an established client base and the location for us is spot on," he added.

The family element of the business came at the right time as Trevor's wife Jo was recently made redundant from her job.

"It all fell into place, I guess it was meant to be," said Trevor.

As well as offering framing and design services, Trevor maintains that it is the layout of the gallery, which sets them apart from others in Norfolk.

"The light and space are like nothing in Norfolk. We've got one big wall that has massive amounts of natural light coming through," said Trevor

"We've had great feedback from some of the artists exhibiting here. They can stand back and see their piece in all it's glory, in natural daylight, it's something you can't do in many galleries," he added.
