Funhouse headlines Brecon Fringe

As well as music the fringe boasts poetry, art and comedy events

The line-up for this year's Brecon Fringe festival will include Cardiff Ska band Funhouse, Wonderbrass, The Amigos and Tredegar Town Band.

The 2010 event takes place between Thursday, 5 August and Sunday, 8 August.

Fringe venues include pubs, hotels, clubs, galleries, Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre and the grounds of Brecon Cathedral.

The fringe runs alongside Brecon Jazz festival which starts on 6 August.

Karin Mear, who is involved with producing the fringe guide, said: "The festival has gone from strength to strength and this year promises to be better than ever with new venues and an exciting programme.

"It has developed over the last few years and the line up attracts a lot of serious music fans.

"They come with their families and also enjoy exploring Brecon's shops and galleries."

Most of the events at Brecon Fringe are free or have a nominal entry charge.

Other bands appearing at the festival include The Head Gardeners, Midnight City Soul, Parcel of Rogues, and The Navigators.

As well as music the fringe boasts poetry, art, comedy and family as well as hosting Brecon Farmers Market.
