A festival that aims to provide young people with an opportunity to sample a variety of art forms takes place at Llanelwedd in mid March.

Powys Youth Arts Festival will be held at the Royal Welsh Showground on Saturday, 20 March 2010.

Workshops available on the day include circus skills, felt making, animation, break-dancing, T-shirt printing and music.

The event will start at 2pm and finish at 8pm.

There is also the opportunity to take part in competitions including dance, singing, photography and creative writing.

The day will end with a spectacular finale put together by youth from across Powys.

Entry to the event costs £5. More in-depth information is available on the Powys Youth Arts Festival website where you can also download a registration form.

The day has been organised by Arts Connection, a community arts organisation based in Llanfyllin; CARAD, an arts and heritage organisation based in Rhayader; and Celf o Gwmpas, which works in partnership with Powys Youth Service which has also funded the festival, along with the Arts Council of Wales.

This is the second year that the event has been held.
