A group of football-mad Manchester City fans stars in the movie Blue Moon Rising.
The blue carpet is being rolled out for a group of Manchester City fans at the world premiere of a new film. 'Blue Moon Rising' is a year in the life of the world's richest club after its takeover by billionaire Sheikh Mansour. It follows a group of seven friends as they travel home and away to watch City in a battered old people carrier. Those fans will be special guests alongside City stars and the manager at the premiere on 9th September.

As loyal yet long-suffering City supporters, Adam White and Steve Haley never dreamt that they would find themselves fans of the richest club in the world. Nor did they ever imagine that they would one day star in a film about Manchester City which would be shown at cinemas across the country. But dreams do, sometimes, come true. "We were approached about this time last year by a mate who works at the club, who said, did we want to be part of it?" explained Steve who's from Bredbury. "Straight away, we said 'yes' and 12 months later we're here now and we're ready for the premiere tonight." Passion Film-makers Endemol Sport had approached the club about making a documentary charting the progress of Manchester City during the 2009/10 season following the club's takeover by a multi billionaire owner.
The cameras go behind the scenes, from the dressing room to the terraces, talking to both City players and supporters about their shared passion, as well as celebrity fans like Noel Gallagher. There's even a brief appearance by BBC Radio Manchester's City reporter Ian Cheeseman. But the real stars of the movie are a group of wise-cracking true Blue fans - Big Ste 'The Mix' Haley, Peter Watson, Adam 'Rage' White, Danny Godfrey, James Greer, Rob 'The Truth' Smith and Donny. Not forgetting, of course, 'Helios', their battered old blue M-reg Renault Espace. Adam who's from Stockport has followed City since their 5-1 derby win over rivals Manchester United in 1989. He said they were all looking forward to the premiere. "We've not seen it yet," he said. "We've seen the extended trailers but they asked if we wanted to see it before and we just went 'no, we'll wait 'til the premiere.' It'll be more of a laugh then, won't it?" Adding: "We're taking the bus down with us. So look out for a blue Renault Espace!" The world premiere of Blue Moon Rising is at the Printworks, Manchester on Thursday, 9 September 2010. The film goes on general release on 8 November.
