One of the most unusual performances for the Manchester International Festival is Marina Abramovic Presents... a 4-hour performance art show.
Marina, one of Europe's most controversial artists, is joined on her first visit to the UK by 13 other performers at the Whitworth Art Gallery which has been emptied for the show.
Visitors walk around the gallery and watch artists including a naked woman throwing herself slowly downstairs and a man holding a branch in a room filled with shoes, pigs heads and fish.
BBC Radio Manchester's Andrew Edwards went along to review the show.
"Some of what is on offer is breathtaking. Some of it is interesting, but not jaw dropping," he said.
