Tower Hamlets sees bitter battle for mayor

Tower Hamlets has seen a few bitter battles in the past, but the fight to become the area's first directly elected mayor might just top them all.

It has divided the local Labour Party, led to threats of legal action and seen accusations fly. BBC London's political correspondent Karl Mercer reports.

Candidates for Tower Hamlets Mayor are:

Helal Abbas (Labour)

Lutfur Rahman (Independent)

John Griffiths (Liberal Democrat)

Neil King (Conservative)
