A woman ahead of her time

The idea of having a sex change operation is still pretty radical to many people these days but, back in 1960, it was almost unthinkable.

Now April Ashley, one of the first people in Britain to undergo the transformation, and a former Vogue model, has a starring role in a new exhibition in London looking at issues of gender and identity.

BBC London's Matthew Morris reports.
