Over 20,000 trees were planted in Hainault Forest as part of the BBC's Tree O'Clock event.

It was hoped a world record would be set but that honour went to Northern Ireland.

The Woodland Trust and 250 enthusiastic Scouts and Cadets rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty. The stakes were high, because just 30 miles away in Heartwood Forest, St Albans, a rival record attempt, was taking place.
