Introducing... more breakthrough music talent on BBC London.

The band have the classic two guitar, bass and drums line-up and, they say, a "huge" range of influences

Where are you from?

We're all from around the Staines area, just near Heathrow... I know, sound's lovely, doesn't it!

Names of band members and instruments played?

Rich Berkshire - vocals, guitar; Matt O'Daly - lead guitar, vocals; Tox - bass guitar, vocals; Tom Smith - drums.

How long have you been making music?

Matt and Rich have been playing since around 2002, but the band has been together since June 2007.

Style of music and influences?

Probably best described as indie/pop/mod really! As a band we have a huge range of influences, from The Maccabees, The Jam, Jimmy Eat World, The Clash and even a little bit of UK hip hop.

Having these different tastes enables us to approach songwriting from different directions and to try different ideas, which hopefully comes across in our music.

Best moment so far?

Our best moment so far would definitely be headlining at the Astoria 2. An absolutely awesome venue and it was a real pleasure to play there, with a great crowd in tow.

Possibly another great moment was finding out that the song we featured, No Man's Land, works as a reggae tune and then playing that version live - although I don't think the crowd got the joke...

What was the inspiration behind No Man's Land?

It's really a song about where we live. Basically, we're from a town that's not quite in the city, but isn't quite far enough out of it either. And these satellite towns in the suburbs have no identity, where there's nothing to do and little aspiration to do anything about it.

So the song is just looking at how it's easy to fall in line in these towns without ever trying to be different or wanting to move on.

What song would you most like to cover?

Covers are an odd thing as you really need to find the right song. I always think that Michael Jackson's and The Beach Boys' songs are so close to being perfect that to cover them is just an injustice.

A song needs to have room to let you put your own slant on it and make it your own. However, we have been known to play Sugababes' About You Now and Dizzee Rascal's Dance Wiv Me on the odd occasion!

Visit Audio. Video. Disco's MySpace, right, for more information. The track we played is No Man's Land from the band's current EP.
