Introducing... more breakthrough music talent on BBC London.
The south east London foursome began life at a college battle of the bands
Where are you from?
South east London, Bexley, Dartford and Kent borders.
Names of band members and instruments played?
Loui - guitar, vocals; Joe - guitar; Dan - bass, vocals; Will - drums.
How long have you been making music?
We first started at the beginning of 2007 for a college battle of the bands thing, but without Will as Dan played drums for us at this time. After some sort of success at the gig we decided to take things a bit more serious and start the band proper.
Dan moved to bass, Loui and Joe stayed on guitars and after a few months we found Will.
Style of music and influences?
Indie, punk, ska is a good way to cover it. We're out to have fun and make great music we're proud of and which other people love. We like The Clash, The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Specials, The Streets to name a few.
Best moment so far?
Supporting Modern Love in March 2008, which was our first proper gig; starting 2009 with a live session on Earwax Radio ("the place to hear the rising stars of the Southeast underground"), and playing a sold-out gig in King's Cross.
What song would you most like to cover?
We've managed to work some classic hip hop into our set, but song-wise it would have to be Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name Of.
Visit The Bright Young Things' MySpace, right, for more information. The track we played is the band's white label demo, Joey 3 Strings.
