Poppies from the battlefields have been discovered in the diary of a First World War soldier from London.

The petals are thought to be the oldest Remembrance flowers in Britain, and were found by a man who was browsing through the diaries of his great uncle, Private Len Smith.

BBC London's Paul Curran reports.
