New Romantic club spawns anniversary one-off

It was the club where fashion and music collided and where the New Romantic movement was born.

Thirty years ago this month a pair of enterprising DJs, Steve Strange and Rusty Egan, opened the doors of the Blitz club in Covent Garden and swept stars-to-be Boy George and Spandau Ballet into its glamour-conscious orbit.

Though the original building is long gone, organisers are planning a special one-off night to mark the occasion.
