BBC London 94.9 devoted two days to exploring some of the key issues and concerns facing residents as they mark 1,000 days until the start of the London 2012 Games.

The programmes broadcast online on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November contained a mix of live and pre-recorded interviews with guests that included established and aspiring athletes, celebrities that hail from the local area and Government and 2012 officials.

We also heard contributions from local people, both young and old, that live and work in the area providing a platform for them to voice their opinions and debate any issues surround the Games and its legacy.

Saturday's highlights

On Saturday we heard interviews by Eddie Nestor with Olympic athlete Tessa Sanderson and Caroline Barker interviewed some special guests about sprinting. Lainy Malkany interviewed Dalton Grant and we also had a debate about the Olympics, education, politics, respect and how they all knit together.


Sunday's highlight's

Simon Lederman welcomed our most successful female Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes into the 2012 Live studio where she talked about her Olympic career and the excitement she feels for this generation of competitors battling for medals on home soil.
