Liverpool showing for Sarah Jane

Fans of Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures can see a sneak preview of a new episode in a special screening at the Odeon in Liverpool One on 24 and 25 October, 2009.

The series stars Liverpool born actress Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. She first appeared with Jon Pertwee's Doctor. Tickets for the screenings are available at bbc.co.uk/tickets from 14 October, 2009.

The character of Sarah Jane has made several reappearances in Doctor Who, most recently alongside David Tennant. Tickets for the screenings are free, on a first come first served basis.

Elisabeth Sladen starred alongside Liverpool actor Tom Baker when he played Doctor Who. Cast from The Sarah Jane Adventures including Tommy Knight and Clyde Langer will be at the Liverpool One event.

The character of Sarah Jane frequently starred along with robot dog K-9. This picture shows a scene from a pilot for K-9 and Company which was not commissioned as a series.

K-9 returned along with Elisabeth Sladen in an episode of the 2006 Doctor Who series called School Reunion. A spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures was then commissioned.

Elisabeth Sladen began her acting career as an assistant stage manager at the Liverpool Playhouse. This picture shows the Sarah Jane character in the 1980s special The Five Doctors.

K-9 continues to appear alongside Sarah Jane in the spin-off series. As well as the screening there will be the chance to see K-9 and supercomputer Mr Smith at Liverpool One.

The Sarah Jane Adventures is made by BBC Wales for CBBC. It began with a 60 minute special in 2007 and has so far run for two series.
