A few suggestions to help you plan your weekend (13 - 14 February).

HISTORY

The floor was covered in the 1860s to provide a surface for dancing

The rare Minton floor in St George's Hall is on display from 10 to 21 February 2010.

The immaculately preserved surface is made up of 30,000 hand crafted tiles depicting tritons, sea nymphs and boys on dolphins, as well as the city's coat of arms.

There will be talks delivered by Steve Binns, MBE on the History of the Concert Room plus St. George's Hall and its famous visitors each day during the reveal, except February 12th.

Talks take place at 11am and 2pm in the concert room with £1 entry fee, payable on the door. Entry is free for children.

The delectable Miss Polly Rae presents an evening of Burlesque and Cabaret with some very special guests from the world of stage and screen.

Joining headliner Miss Polly Rae are; star of BBC's Goodness Gracious Me, Anil Desai, Jennifer the female contortionist, musical comedy double act Moonfish Rhumba and the acrobatic & dance duo, Strictly Dumb Prancing.

Miss Polly Rae presents and Evening of Burlesque with very special guests on Saturday 13 February, 1930GMT, Parr Hall, Warrington.

Discover the importance of plants in everyday life

Enter a magical realm with giant leafy canopies, massive seed pods, huge root systems and strange man-made trees.

Plantastic is a new fun interactive exhibition at World Museum Liverpool which shows how plants interact with people, animals, insects and each other.

Forty interactive exhibits and games help to uncover the secrets of this amazing world in this fun interactive science exhibition.

The exhibition explains how we use plants in our daily lives often without realising it, and how they are essential for the world's survival.

The exhibition opens on 13 February 2010 and runs until 5 September 2010.

(R)Evolution of Urban Art
Spray-paint and stencil artworks are on display

Urban Art has its origins in street graffiti, spray-paint and stencils, but now it can also be seen on canvas and limited edition prints, making it a mainstream movement.

(R)Evolution of Urban Art at the Welcome to Warrington Museum and Art Gallery explores how Urban Art references the history of art.

Through observation, research and discussion with some of the artists, the exhibition shows the similarities in styles and ideals.

The exhibition runs until 13 March 2010.

Beethoven
Enjoy an evening of Beethoven at the Pacific Road Arts Centre

Join conductor Mark Heron for an evening of Beethoven at the Pacific Road Arts Centre in Birkenhead on Saturday 13 February 2010.

The performance includes Soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music, chorus from Manchester Chamber Choir and Ad Solem. Features Schubert - Mass in G and Beethoven - Symphony No 9 - Choral.

There will be a pre-concert talk at 1845GMT with conductor Mark Heron.
