Jackson video is brought to life
The Sound Before You Make It
The Sound Before You Make It takes Thriller as inspiration

The memorable scene of dancing zombies from Michael Jackson's Thriller video is recreated at Liverpool's Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT).

Using a 19th century optical toy, Australian artists David Lawrey and Jaki Middleton have brought to life minature zombies.

The Sound Before You Make It utilises a flashing strobe and a rotating disc covered in figures.

The artwork is on display in FACT's Media Lounge until 29 November, 2009.

Set to the music of Thriller a rotating zoetrope loops endlessly a group of moving figures dressed like the dancers in the 1983 video.

Michael Jackson's Thriller was a 14 minute movie and music video for the hit song and at the time was the most expensive music video ever made.

Directed by John Landis the video was ground breaking for its use of a storyline in addition to the music video that made it a mini-movie.
