Andrew Leicester took on the country's finest fishmongers
A fishmonger from Warrington, Cheshire has been named BBC Young Fishmonger of the Year after battling it out in a national TV competition.
Andrew Leicester, who works at Andrew's Fish Bar in Warrington Market, beat three of the country's finest fishmongers in the final.
The BBC Three programme is part of a series which celebrates the best in young hardworking British talent.
Young people compete to be crowned number one in their profession.
Andrew told BBC North West Tonight, "It's a good confidence booster. The hardest thing was staying on top of my nerves. It was everyday stuff but it was just difficult doing it under pressure.
"My strongest round was the knowledge round and the judges seemed pretty impressed."
The finalists were tested on speed filleting the best British fish and creating an exotic seafood platter, with every aspect of their skills scrutinised by the judges.
Fishmonger to the stars, Rex Goldsmith, and the owner of the biggest online fishmongers in the country, Paul Trudgian, judged the competition final which was shown on BBC Three.
