Chelcee Grimes has been tipped as the 'next urban star'.
|
Local urban acts KOF and Chelcee Grimes launched their single 'Fire It Up' on Saturday 28, August. KOF, who has had his music played on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1xtra, decided to work with Chelcee after hearing her music on the Liverpool urban scene. The track also features Wiley, who KOF has supported in Liverpool along with Tinchy Stryder. KOF said, "For me to be able to support unsigned talent such as Chelcee in Liverpool is great!"
KOF was a featured unsigned artist on BBC Introducing.

He said the best method to get unsigned music heard is to go straight to the people. "Putting on our own events, printing up a load of CDs and just letting them go for free. We realised there is a market for what we're doing here." KOF says his main inspiration comes from house, dance, drum and bass, hip-hop and R&B music. He said, "Because I listen to that music, it automatically becomes a part of mine."
