Flying with the E-3D AWACS crew at RAF Waddington

Look North's Phil Norton reports from an operational flight on board a Boeing E-3D AWACS aircraft.

The AWACS, based at RAF Waddington, are operated by 8 Squadron, one of the largest squadrons in the Royal Air Force.

The aircraft plays a vital role in keeping British troops safe in conflicts around the world by keeping track of enemy movements and by providing information to other aircraft and commanders.
