Look North's Jake Zucherman spoke to Jane about her request to change her name with npower.

A Lincolnshire transgender woman is taking legal action against npower over its demand for documentation about a change of name.

Jane Fae, from Deeping St James, has been told by npower that it is unable to change her name without documentary evidence.

Jane, who is currently undergoing hormone therapy, told BBC Lincolnshire that the demand is discriminatory.

She is planning to take npower to court if it does not drop its demand.

BBC Lincolnshire received a statement from npower, which said: "We don't believe our processes are discriminatory. It is regrettable that proceedings have been issued but we're always open to improving our processes and we're also having ongoing discussions with Jane."
