Lincolnshire illustrator Mark Chambers in his studio
Lincolnshire illustrator Mark Chambers is celebrating after signing a two-year book deal with a major publisher.
Mark will provide illustrations for 24 children's books for Bloomsbury Publishing.
Working out of The Terrace in Lincoln, Mark's work is already adorning the walls on London Zoo's Animal Adventure.
He has also provided work displayed on the label of a beer bottle commemorating Councillor Ron Hill's time as Mayor of Lincoln.
Mark has already worked for many high profile publishers including Oxford University Press, Scholastic, Macmillan, Random House and Simon and Schuster.
Talking about being awarded the new book deal Mark said: "It was fantastic. It's been bubbling up for a while this particular commission. The Animal Adventure series was formerly opened last April at London Zoo and my agency has been trying to push the actual concept of Animal Adventure the new children's zoo down there into publishing itself so they put together a package and went round lots of publishers and Bloomsbury snapped it up."
Mark is aware his work will be alongside some very famous names: "To see my work alongside Harry Potter and Michael Rosen, the former Children's Laureate will be quite fantastic!"
