Join Leicester's biggest choir
Leicester Cathedral
The event is taking place at the Leicester Cathedral on Children in Need day

BBC Leicester's Rupal Rajani has been challenged to raise the biggest choir in our city and county to sing Handel's musical masterpiece the "Hallelujah Chorus" from the Messiah.

But she needs your help to "get a Handel" on her choral singing for BBC Children in Need.

Join in and sing on 20 November 2009 at 11:00 at the Leicester Cathedral.

It is all part of "Sing Hallelujah" a nationwide BBC project encouraging folk to discover the joy of singing.

A portrait of George Frideric Handel
This year marks the 250th anniversary of George Frideric Handel's death

The idea is to involve as many people as possible from individual beginners to experienced choirs and it all forms part of the celebrations surrounding the 250th anniversary of Handel's death in 1759.

As it is Children in Need, Rupal has a double challenge; not only to raise Leicester's biggest choir, but also to learn and be able to sing the Hallelujah Chorus herself.

So we need your help!

All it means is an hour or two of your time on Children in Need day to turn up at Leicester Cathedral at 11:00 and sing.

If you have sung before that would be great - but if you are a beginner and would like to be part of the choir you are more than welcome.

IMPORTANT: You must be available from 11:00 to 12:30 on Friday 20 November 2009 at Leicester Cathedral.

Please contact us by filling in your details below - all fields MUST be filled in to process the form.
