How did you come to be working for BBC Leicester? Quite by accident. I was a guest and gradually became sucked in. The rest is history. Who's been your best guest and why? I remember three especially: Sir Alec Jeffreys, Sue Townsend and a phone-in caller who was dying of cancer after a life-time smoking. He was so riveting I forgot I was on air. What's been your worst on-air moment? Too many to recall. What's your career highlight so far? Interviewing John Major when he was PM and getting from him an answer that made the main national news that day and headlines the next. Your favourite place in Leicestershire and Rutland and why? I am very fond of Foxton Locks because it remains rather awesome and the scenery around there is beautiful. I also love the Great Central Railway. Favourite television show? Midsummer Murders Favourite food? My wife's scrambled eggs taken with a tumbler of single malt. What do you do to help you relax? Reading a good crime novel in bed.
