The count down to Christmas 2009 and the New Year is under way.

In this special edition of The Guide are details of where and when you can see pantomimes and other Christmas shows across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Little Red Riding Hood

The Beacon Players, Woodhouse Eaves proudly present it's first pantomime since 2002 entitled 'Little Red Riding Hood' by Tina and Robert Burbidge.

Performances take place at the Village Hall, Main Street, Woodhouse Eaves on Thursday 4 February at 19:30 and Friday 5 February at 19:30, and Saturday 6 February for a 14:30 matinee.

Refreshments will be provided by the local Scout Group in aid of Scout funds.

Tickets are available from Woodhouse Eaves Post Office, or contact Bob and Helen Rankin on 01509 890270.

Puss in Boots in Hinckley

Hinckley Concordia's pantomime will closely follow the classic Spanish-set tale of 'Puss in Boots'.

Follow the talking cat as he sets about the task of turning his penniless master into a fabulous marquis, worthy of a noblewoman.

The show runs from Wednesday 13 January to Saturday 6 February. For more information, including tickets, visit the Hinckley Concordia website
