Leicester City Council regulates private car parks

Councillors have been getting tough with the owners of car parks, operating on derelict land in Leicester, by introducing planning guidelines to regulate them.

The number of cheap city centre parking has rocketed over the past few years. Now Leicester City Council has been assessing whether there is a need for them.

Cllr Abdul Osman said they are "grotty", cause congestion and deter people from using public transport.
