Herbert 'Blondie' Hookway has lived on Hawthorne Street for 53 years
Herbert Hookway who lives at number 77 Hawthorne Street in Leicester, is taking part in the project called The Street.
BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.
The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.
Herbert has lived on Hawthorne Street for 53 years.
Herbert Hookway, or Blondie as he is fondly called, was named so because his late wife didn't like the name Herbert.
Seventy-four year-old Blondie is originally from Cornwall, but moved to Leicester with his late wife because her sister lived here.
Blondie has four sons and daughter as well as 13 grandchildren.
He enjoys living on Hawthorne Street but thinks it has changed a lot over the years.
