Mother of two, Katie Thomas who lives at number 72 Hawthorne Street in Leicester, is taking part in the project called The Street.
BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.
The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.
Katie has lived on Hawthorne Street for 17 years.

Katie, who is currently separated from her partner, lives with her two young children.
Rheanne is 16 years-old and has a keen interest in composing music. She can play the guitar, piano and the flute.
Katie had not planned to live on Hawthorne Street for very long but loved it so much she ended up staying. That was seventeen years ago.
The mother of two runs a support group in Hinckley for families of children with disabilities and also volunteers for a divorce recovery workshop.
