Dorothy is the great aunt of Elaine Swan who also lives on Hawthorne Street
Dorothy Merry, who lives at number 68 Hawthorne Street in Leicester, is taking part in the project called The Street.
BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.
The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.
Dorothy is 86 years-old and currently lives with a relative.
Dorothy moved to 68 Hawthorne Street in 1946.
Her late husband, Clifford Edward Merry, was born and bought up in the house.
Together they had two daughters and a son, who currently lives on Beatrice Road.
The house originally belonged to Clifford's grandparents, who also lived there.
Dorothy says that there has been up to 12 people living in the house at the same time.
Dorothy is the great aunt of Elaine Swan who also lives on Hawthorne Street.
