Partners Gareth Hussy and Catherine Swaine, who live at number 82 Hawthorne Street in Leicester, are taking part in the project called The Street.

BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.

The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.

Twenty-six year-old Catherine has lived on Hawthorne Street for three years.

Meet the young couple

Catherine is Head of Year 11 at Beaumont Leys School in Leicester.

Her boyfriend, Gareth, is currently working as a admin assistant at the school but also works at a community radio station.

Together, they enjoy cooking.
