The Street: Mark Gibson on Hawthorne St in Leicester

Mark Gibson is 41 years-old and has lived on Hawthorne Street for eight years

Mark Gibson, who lives at number 62 Hawthorne Street in Leicester, is taking part in the project called The Street.

BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.

The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.

Mark is 41 years-old and has lived on Hawthorne Street for eight years.

Meet Mark

Although Mark is now separated from his partner, she lives near by on the New Parks Estate with their three young children.

Mark works as a Service Engineer for a Northampton based company, where he has been for two years.

His work involves a lot of travelling across the country so most of his job is taken up by driving.

When he is not at work he enjoys carp fishing around Leicestershire.
