Mike Haywood lives at the 'House of Elvis' on Hawthorne St with his dog, Rosie
Michael Haywood lives at number 40 Hawthorne Street in Leicester. He is taking part in the BBC Leicester project called The Street.
BBC Leicester presenter Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.
The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.
Michael is 62 years-old and lives with his dog, Rosie.
Living with long distance love
Mike is currently in a long distance relationship with Susan from Kent.
Both being fans of Elvis, they started to write to each other in 2008.
Michael, or Mike as he is known to his friends, has lived at number 40 Hawthorne Street since 1969.
He and his late wife Val were such big fans of Elvis Presley that they turned their home into a shrine of the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
The house is now known as the 'House of Elvis'. The couple's daughter, who now lives in Birmingham, is named Lisa, after Lisa Marie Presley.
He recently spent some time in hospital. He was found by his neighbours and rushed to hospital with internal bleeding.
At the time he was given only a 20% chance to live, but he's now back home hoping to make a full recovery.
