Elaine Swann has lived on Hawthorne Street in Newfoundpool all her life
Elaine Swann, who lives at number 90 Hawthorne Street in Leicester, is taking part in the project called The Street.
BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth launched the project after 'adopting' the street in Newfoundpool - the area where he grew up as a child.
The Street project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors and the community that is shared.
Elaine is 57 years-old and has lived on Hawthorne Street all her life.
Keeping the family in the street
Elaine has a lot of family history on Hawthorne Street as many of them also lived there at some point in their lives.
Elaine has lived at number 90 Hawthorne Street for 40 years and loves working at the local pharmacy, where she has been for the last 23 years.
Dorothy Merry, who currently lives at number 68, is also Elaine's auntie.
Although Elaine is not married she has been with her partner Sean for 23 years. They both live at 90 Hawthorne Street with their teenage son, Ashley.
Elaine also has three other children from a previous partner - Steven, Narisser and Hayley all live around the city.
