Tony Wadsworth tours The Street and meets the residents

As part of a new series on BBC Leicester, Tony Wadsworth takes a trip to the Newfoundpool area of the city - where he grew up, and he is 'adopting' a street... Hawthorne Street.

'The Street' project takes a closer look at the lives behind closed doors, and the community that is shared.

But here is a sneak peak into the lives of some of the characters that live on 'The Street'...

Sixty-three year-old Geoff Connolly has been living at number 88 Hawthorne Street for 44 years. He and his wife have three children.

Neighbour Elaine Swann has lived at number 90 for 40 years, but has been a resident on the street for 57 years. Elaine was born at number 50 Hawthorne Street.

Find out more about Geoff, Elaine and the other residents on Tony Wadsworth's show on BBC Radio Leicester (104.9FM, Dab and Online) between 09:00 - 12:00, Monday to Friday.
