Frosty the cat survives four weeks in freezer warehouse
Frosty the cat
'Frosty' had to have both his ears and tail removed because of frostbite

A cat braved sub-zero temperatures for over four weeks after he was locked inside a warehouse freezer.

'Frosty', as he has been named by his rescuers, is now being cared for by staff at the RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre in Leicester.

They believe he survived the ordeal by licking moisture from walls and possibly eating frozen food products.

Due to frostbite the cat has lost both ears and his tail, but is largely on the road to recovery.

As lorries are constantly driving in and out of the warehouse it is difficult to know where Frosty originally came from.

It is suspected he was, ironically, looking for a warm place to rest.

A warm response

Workers at the Northamptonshire food warehouse called in the animal inspectors after many failed attempts at catching their feline visitor.

A humane trap was set and Frosty was soon captured and brought to the RSPCA to be treated.

One of the warehouse workers has already reserved the lucky cat, while his fellow colleagues have all been collecting money together to pay for his veterinary treatment.
